I'm pleased to announce the latest Feature here at Joe-Mammy.com will be John Lurie. Now you might be asking yourself "Wait a minute, isn't there already an interview with John?" Well, the answer is yes, but this one is brand-spankin' new to announce the upcoming release of "Learn to Draw" and the release of limited edition prints through John's website.
And in case you don't know who John Lurie is, here's a clip from his critically acclaimed cult favorite "Fishing with John"
The problem with only half ways paying attention to a film in another language is that when there's suddenly a bunch of dead people and you don't know why, you don't much feel like finding out. Anyway, been a semi-quiet bit o' weekend for the ol' Joe. Those of you on the east coast had the chance to see Joe-Mammy.com Feature alum Kari Wahlgren this weekend at the Anime Next Convention. If I'd been doing my job I would have told you that before the event, but now you can just feel bad that you missed it. Start feeling bad... now!
It's ok; don't be too hard on yourself. There'll always be other chances, right? Besides, here's a little bit of geeky fun to tide you over so you have a reason to keep living.
And did I mention John Lurie has prints for sale? Get 'em while they're hot!
So, a quick recap of my month: Officially got old. Got bronchitis Took medicine for bronchitis, asthma suddenly comes out of nowhere Took new medicine for asthma Medicine for asthma makes my irritable and reduces ability to fend off illness Got bronchitis again.
Now prints of original artwork by John (including the picture that launched a thousand Russian knockoffs "Bear Surprise"--above) are available through his website. Be the first kid on your block to own a bit of Lurie goodness.
This shouldn't be as enjoyable to me as it is, but heck, it's a Friday and I'm good for a cheap chuckle. Anyway, nothing particularly interesting going on the moment (...or maybe that's just what I want you to believe. Hahahahahaha!)
Anyway, here's the classic silent film "Die Hard: The Ballad of John McClane"
Well, the fun just keeps a-rollin'. I'm happy to announce (not that most of you would really care) that as of today Joe-Mammy.com has already managed to attract the same number of visitors as we had all of last year. C'mon, congratulatory handshakes all 'round. Have some cheese and crackers. There's some cold beer in the fridge.
So, check out our wonderful Features, check out the Stevie video, there should be a new article by yours truly on the Birdhouse and, just because I'm feeling festive, here's one of the greatest videos ever made:
