Well, a few more folks have passed on. By now many have seen the news about Don Knotts who died. Personally, I was more disappointed to see that Darren McGavin also died. McGavin, probably best known for playing the father in "A Christmas Story" was one of the guys out there who I never thought quite got the recognition he deserved. Where would we be now if it hadn't been for shows like "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" (the old one, not the horrid rehash they tried earlier this television season...)
Well I'm pleased to announce two (2) things. One (1): the laptop has finally on its way to being repaired. That means I can do more work again and hopefully keep the little site that we've all come to know and love moving a little faster (and get some Features going full steam...)
Two (Deux): After some thought, consideration, and supplications offered to numerous strange and minor gods I've decided that Joe-Mammy.com is a lot of work, at times frustration, generally thankless and self-absorbed so when my webspace renewal came up again I was considering that it might be time to let Cecil, the flying baby, the Devil Pups and my own bad self take their natural course and fade away quietly.
But then I realized I don't like nature--squirrels and twigs and all that--so I opted to keep this monstrosity chugging along for another year of Joe goodness. (So breathe a sigh of relief all of you nice folks who steal my bandwidth to show off Kari Byron pics...) What does year three of the Ultimate Joe Experience have to offer? Hard to say, but at least now you know there will be a year three.
Laptop repairs coming soon. In the meantime, I'm not a big foreign car fan, but I do like Peter Stormare (he was one of the nihilists in "The Big Lebowski", the wood chipper guy in "Fargo" and the devil--and only truly good part--of "Constantine") and he's in rare form in these commercials for Volkswagen. I laughed aloud. Hand to God.
Props to Transbuddha for continuing to host this stuff...
I've had this bouncing in and out of my head for a few weeks, so now I share it with you. Enjoy.
Well I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this: The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
Well your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
Well Baby I've been here before I've seen this room and i've walked this floor, I used to live alone before I knew you And I've seen your flag on the marble arch But love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
Well there was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show that to me do you But remember when I moved in you And the holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
Maybe there is a God above But all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you And it's not a cry that you hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
Oh, and on the other end of the spectrum, here's one of the worst things I've ever seen or heard... -Joe
Hey kiddies. No new news, which means, I suppose, no bad news. Not much here (obviously) but hopefully soon things will be getting patched up/repaired and updated soon.
And now, here's something that always makes me feel good.
Well, here's a little something that made me chuckle. So far week two of the "Joe is a bloody clutz and now has limited internet access" experiment has come and gone and I can say that, in fact, I don't much care for it. Oh well. On a personal note Devil Pup Virgil had his birthday today, so he got to enjoy his cheeseburger while yours truly worked on a collaboration project with a friend. Details forthcoming (if all goes well...)
So, in the meantime, please be patient until all these matters are resolved and enjoy:
So, apparently KFKOD.net and the-nep.com are still down. Thanks for your patience, I've harassed the appropriate parties and hopefully all will be babies and fluffy bunnies again soon... -Joe
Well, it finally happened. As a wise friend of mine once said: The problem with portable is "portable" ultimately means "broken..." And alas, my lurvely little laptop (which has been the most ready source for all Joe-related news for the last year or so) has done and had itself a bit of a misfortune. So, updates might be a little slower in coming now, but keep heart, I'm still hard at work. And to prove it, here's a Holy Spirit Enema...
