A brief question

The Feature with Fr Charlie Kunkel is forthcoming. It's good stuff. Check it out.

On a completely unrelated note, while I appreciate all the referrals we here at Joe-Mammy.com get, but browsing through the big long list of referers I stumbled across a baffler.

So, to all you visitors from shemaleisland.com, um, mind telling me how exactly I managed to get linked from a site called shemaleisland? Last I checked our "shemale" content was pretty minimal. In fact, I'm not sure there are any actual hermaphrodites on here at all. Maybe as a joke or something, but there aren't any. But you're welcome to check out our other absolutely rockin' content. Just, you know, don't expect any major genetic gender confusion or anything.

The next Feature will be with the protagonist in this compelling story. Father Charles Kunkel's interview should be posted shortly after Thanksgiving. It's a good 'un. Check out the news article and then get the story behind the story.

I know, I'm all on the cutting edge and stuff.

The week in (p)review

Hey kids,

So, I've been freakishly busy lately. In a rare moment of down time I figured I'd sit and chat with all of you and enjoy a nice ice cold Coca-Cola. Mmmmmmm. Coca-Cola.

Anyway, as always there's a world of changes going on around here, some of which you'll be seeing creeping up in the lil' website of love. There are multiple Features in the works, all of which I'm very excited about. On a related note, (and that's going to be left intentionally unexplained for the moment) I caught "Walk the Line" today. Twas quite good. I've not necessarily been the biggest fan of either Joaquin Phoenix or Reese Witherspoon, but yeah, they come through. Very solid flick.

I'm not sure which are creepier, those Burger King "King" commercials or John Lithgow's soup commercials. I am unsettled.

Anyway, here's your 2005 NL MVP

Who's yer daddy now?

Why smart people are funnier than others

I ran across this and it made me laugh. Real hard. These are the kind of things people write about as a joke, not do actual research on, unless they're cool. Bravo guys.

Anyway, sorry about the lack of actual Joe commentary kind of posts. Currently I'm busier than the proverbial one-legged man at an ass-kicking contest (which I actually have an autobiographical anecdote about, but that's for another time) and haven't had the kind of time/inspiration to do much other than say "hi" and give you a little bit of linky goodness. Hopefully when things settle down a bit I'll be able to put the "Joe" back into the ol' Blog-o-Rama.

But that being said, there are some very cool things that continue to be in the works. There's another (yes, another) Feature in the works and maybe another couple before the end of the year. Bigger and better and um, bloggier. That's my motto.

Ya know, Christmas is right around the Corner...

After a decade of waiting, the real thing finally arrives.

Those of you, like me, who suffered through the, well, insufferable "Kingdom Hospital" (I know, there have to be at least five or six of us) know that there is only one Lars Von Trier and there is only one beautifully campy, funny and spooky "Kingdom." If you have only seen the American version, trust me, you've missed out. So, in case you were wondering what little bit of happiness you could send ol' Joe's way this wonderful and interminable holiday season, here she be. Of course if I end up getting a kajillion copies of this, I'll probably have to find some way to give a few out as a contest or something. It'll be fun.

Speaking of which, did anyone else see this?

I had the first ultra-funky "Book of the Dead" version, but this is even sweeter. Probably the greatest DVD ever (commentary/film/features) with new and improved kick-ass packaging. Too fun.

And one more thing!

Hey kids, it's William Winckler.

That's right, William Winckler, writer, producer, director and star of the quintessentially titled
"Frankenstein vs the Creature from Blood Cove"
has graciously dropped by the Features page. It's a good time. Check it out.

Songs from the collective unconscious

Yeah, this is nice.

Kinda makes you think of the good ol' days.

And then thank whomever you believe in that you weren't there.

Dude looks like Gilligan. That and a dude I went to high school with. Weird.

I flipping love this

I don't know what this is, really, but I think it's pretty amusing. The Power Rangers were almost this funny in real life...

boooooooo - urp

OK.
Feel free to classify this as a sleepy hallucination or just a crazy person hearing things, but...
Tuesday morning, i woke up to the buzz of an alarm clock.
I hit snooze, sat up,then realized
I was not ready to do so.
I reset the alarm for a half hour more of recovery,
then, just before my head hit the pillow,
i was startled by a loud
BRRRRAAAAAAAAAACCKKK
very near my noggin.
...
so yeah, I have a burping ghost.
- Rex

p.s. I have decided to attempt re-entering the real world. Granted, this ain't really the real world, but for what it's worth, my soul shall heretofore exist on rex-havoc.blogspot.com.
And be sure to try to catch the extra-special drunken entries i put up at 8 a.m. EST only to take down as soon as I realize how much i've embarrassed myself.
What a treat.

Quote of the day:

"You know, I kinda feel sorry for these guys. It's not their fault they suck this bad."
"Uh, yeah it is..."
